"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me."

These words don't come from someone that has it all together but from someone who is broken. In our culture, we are taught that brokenness is a weakness. We make sure to keep our personal struggles private. We present an image to others that everything is alright.

David tried to do this. He had created a mess. And then tried to hide it. Only to be discovered and confronted with the reality of his mistakes.

In Psalm 51, David offers his broken, shattered self to God instead of hiding it. And it was there that David experiences the all-encompassing love of God.

God can take the brokenness of our lives and make it into something beautiful.

The beautiful mosaics in our sanctuaries demonstrate this truth. God can take the shattered glass of our lives and make it into a beautiful demonstration of God's grace.

Don't hide your brokenness... bring it to the one... who will... and can make it into something beautiful.
