This Sunday @ Locust Hill UMC::: Remember Me!

"Remember me" are the words spoken by the criminal that was hanging on the cross next to Jesus. What exactly are we saying when we say "Remember me"? Are we saying remember my name? Or are we saying remember the substance of who I am? This leads us to a deeper more existential question, "Who are you?" What makes you, you? I am sure some of us would name all those nice parts about ourselves but lingering in the background are the parts that we are not so proud of.

The criminal didn't ask Jesus to forgive his sins. No, he just said to Jesus, "remember me." Remember who I am. Remember who you created me to be. Remember that I am more than what put me up on this cross. Remember me.
