This Sunday at Locust Hill UMC: Isn't it obvious?

Isn't it obvious whose side Jesus is on? Conservatives think that they are on the right side of Jesus all the while Liberals think the very same thing! Family and friends fight... but it is obvious that "I am the right one".

Why doesn't Jesus just come out and make it obvious who is right and wrong? Why doesn't he make it obvious what we should truly believe? We take our battle stations. We take our arguments, our pride, our assurances of our own correctness. Each one of us from our special corner says that Jesus is on our side. Have we not pulled Jesus himself apart in all of this mess? Yet what we are told in John 14 is that Jesus has left us something. He didn't leave us his house, not his money, no he simply left us his peace. This Sunday we will be discovering what peace calls us towards as we continue to follow Jesus.
