Sunday, November 9th- Embracing God's Story

This week we will be looking at Joshua 24. Joshua is bringing together judges, tribal leaders, and elders and commissioning them to continue living in to this beautiful, majestic story of God. The first thing Joshua does with these leaders is tell them the story of how God has continually shaped his and brought his people through and at the end Joshua invites them to continue to let God's story shape their now and their future.

This scripture teaches us that we are not merely committed to knowing facts about Jesus Christ ie, "Jesus Christ is the son of God, Jesus died for my sins, Jesus saved my soul...etc" No, we are committed to continually embracing God's story as our story. Stories still today have this sacred place in the Christian community. We are reminded of three key things in the scripture about the story of God:

1. God's story reminds us that we didn't get here on our own. We are the collective content of those who have lived and gone before us.
2. God's story reminds us that we are apart of a narrative much bigger than ourselves.
3. God's story shapes our reality of the future and our perception of hope in a fallen world.

Looking forward to journeying with you this Sunday!
