Sunday, November 23rd- Is it Worth It?

This week we will be looking at Matthew chapter 25 verse 31 through 46. Most people are familiar with these words of Jesus, "Truly I tell you, just as you did unto the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." I wonder if we have tried living out some of the ways Jesus has called us to like "loving our enemies, forgiving those that have hurt us, reaching out to the outcast, etc,." If you have you  might have noticed that the people that Jesus calls us to love most times don't return with gratefulness for our selfless actions. This might lead us to ask: "Is the Christian life worth it?"

I believe this text provides an answer to this question. Jesus signifies that our responses to his ways are not lost in the distant cosmos but instead they are an intimate connection to Jesus Christ. In our selfless actions we are sustaining the mission of Jesus Christ. Just as much as we connect with God through prayer... we connect with God through our selfless obedience to his ways.

Looking forward to diving in to this scripture together and discerning the significance it might have for our lives.

Blessings,
Jason
